Learners take part in mountain biking in the third term. There are four Limpopo schools league races taking place. Throughout the year there are also numerous mountain bike races in the area in which the Larries can participate.
The format of the school league is circular routes ranging from 6-10km, this differs from age group to age group.. The age groups are as follows: Sub-Nippers (Gr1 and 2), Nippers, (Gr 3 and 4), Sprogs (Gr 5 and 6) and Sub-juniors (Gr 7 and 8).
The aim of school cycling is to get as many learners as possible to participate and also develop a love for cycling. Each Larrie who participates in the league earns points for the school. The school with the most points at the end of the school league walks away with the Limpopo school cycling exchange trophies.
Practices are on Mondays and Wednesdays (during season, so the 3rd term) from 16:00-17:00 at Merensky or Westfalia, Fearie Glen. In the off season (2nd and 4th term) we only train on Wednesdays from 16:00-17:00 at Merensky.
In 2023 the Larries achieved a 7th place out of 16 schools during the school league series. 25 Larries participated in cycling this year. Ilana Lubbe qualified to participate in the Interprovincial tournament and achieved a 2nd place.
