Sumari Vorster participates in the National ATKV Orators competition at Goudini Spa in the Cape. The competition took place on August 1st.
Her prepared speech’s theme was DANCE and she addressed the following TOPIC: Unhealthy competition in the classroom makes the dolls dance, convincing the audience that competition for the sports field should be left on the sports field.
In her unprepared speech, for which she gets 90 minutes of preparation time, she was asked whether school clothes should be removed, yes or no and why? Sumari is of the opinion that school clothes should be removed and she convinced the audience on the following three arguments of her position.
The writing is on the wall, school clothes are too expensive for parents.
School clothes do form a unity, but do not bring cohesion among scholars.
Schools that have different sportswear, leader clothing, corduroy and who knows what else they have, look like a rainbow nation and there is disagreement among those who are not good enough for a sports team.
Sumari was one of 26 speakers who participated in this competition.
The Larries are very proud of Sumi!
